The spray of the Pearland skunk is suffocating enough, adding the smell of the dead skunk with the stench of their spray will be unbearable. In order to eliminate the decaying scent, you will need to get rid of the dead body at once and decontaminate the place where you discovered the body. Other wildlife animals can also be attracted to the scent of the decaying flesh so you have to act immediately if you do not want to suffer another wildlife infestation again.

Looking for the Carcass of the Dead Skunk

Looking for the Texas dead skunk can be a smelly experience. You will have to rely heavily on your sense of smell in order to determine the exact location of the skunk. To make the process easier, you will have to look on the common places that the skunk may use as their den. For instance, if there are abandoned burrows of other animals in your yard, the skunk may use this as their den. They also rarely get inside our house so you might want to start your search outside. The skunk will establish their den in the dark and obscure areas of our yard such as under the shed or porch. Use a flashlight when searching those areas. You should also look under the piles of woods and brushes since this is also an ideal hiding ground for the skunk.

In case you can’t seem to find the dead Texas body, you can follow the trail of the flies or the ants to find the dead body. You should also observe if the suffocating scent is stronger on a particular part or not. This will make the searching process a lot easier. Once you found the dead body, it is time to start the removal process.

Keep Yourself Protected

Before you deal with the body of the dead Texas skunk, you will have to keep yourself protected. Remember that the parasites in their dead body will start to look for a new host. They may also contain pathogens that can cause diseases. Wear face masks, goggles and gloves when removing the dead body. Keep your pets and your kids away from the carcass since they are highly vulnerable to the dangers that it presents. Spray the body with a cleaning solution first and leave it for at least 5 minutes. This will prevent the fungal spores from being released into the air. If you found the dead body inside the house, open the windows to improve the air circulation.

Removing the Dead Skunk

Using a shovel, scoop the Pearland skunk and place the dead body of the skunk inside the plastic bag and tie it. Place it again on another garbage bag before tying it again. Do not push out the trapped air inside the trash bag. Place the garbage bag inside the cardboard box and seal it with a masking tape. You may then take it in a nearby landfill or wait for the garbage collector to collect your garbage.

Once this is completed, you will have to clean your place to guarantee that every microorganism that carries diseases will be eliminated. Use a cleaning solution that can disintegrate organic matter when cleaning their feces.
